New DraftKings Venue Set to Open in Michigan

It is understood that the US iGaming operator DraftKings is set to open a new venue in the state of Michigan as it looks to gain further ground in the market ahead of its competitors.

This is far from being just a normal branding exercise. With a serious foothold in the state, following a strong rebound this year, it presents a major opportunity to really show that it means business.

Michigan has proven to be an effective hunting ground for the operator over the last 12 months, even outperforming the likes of FanDuel for certain products during 2022.

Multi Experience Sports Venue for Betting Enthusiasts

It is clear that a considerable amount of thought has gone into the planning of this enterprise, and this is something that has been implied by DraftKings' CEO Jason Robins, who released a statement via his official LinkedIn profile.

"We're raising the sports bar with the first-ever DraftKings Sports & Social venue in Troy, Michigan."

Working together with Live! Hospitality & Entertainment, the new venue, will deliver a premier game day experience where fans can be a part of the action. Watch and bet on your favorite teams while enjoying an elevated food and beverage experience, set your own high score in the arcade, enjoy a private party or a social hangout with friends — it's all possible at the DraftKings Sports & Social Lounge.
The venues, designed by ICRAVE, are delivering an upscale, premier sports and entertainment experience.
Couldn't be prouder of the team on this one.

DraftKings Seeking to Conquer a New Niche?

This reveal could well indicate that the US operator is looking to carve out a new niche in the US sports betting industry, perhaps by delivering a premium sports day experience to the market, with the ability to make sports bets via the app in the venue.

It also throws up many different customer acquisition possibilities, such as exclusive promotions for customers who place bets on-site via the DraftKings app.

In addition, it could well lead to further venues around the country using the same concept. What the brand has in its favor is that it is already well-known by bettors in the state, and as a result, this throws up multiple social opportunities for betting enthusiasts.

It is something that could well prove to be a masterstroke from Robins and the DraftKings team and, if well-received, may become a number-one venue nationwide. Maybe, just maybe, these may pop up in numerous major cities in the US over the next 12 months.
