PokerStars has become the newest affiliate member of the Portuguese Online Betting and Gambling Association (APAJO).

The non-profit association was established in 2018 to uphold and promote the online gambling and betting sector and the companies legally operating in Portugal.

To fulfill its objectives, APAJO represents locally licensed operators and members in regulatory, governmental, and legislative discussions.

The association also developed a Responsible Gambling Manual, featuring several recommendations in addition to the existing responsible gambling laws that its members are expected to adhere to.

APAJO is pleased to welcome into its group one of the leading international brands and an operator which has been in the market since 2016. We look forward to working with PokerStars to promote an entertaining, safe, and sustainable environment for online gambling in Portugal.

By joining the committee, PokerStars has further shown its commitment to responsible gambling. The global sports betting and gaming provider will work with APAJO to drive forward the latter's initiatives and aim to develop a safe and sustainable market in Portugal.

We are delighted to join APAJO and look forward to sharing our expertise from other licensed jurisdictions to support APAJO in promoting a responsible and safe play environment. We have high ambitions for this market, and we can't wait to start working together with APAJO.
