Scientific Games is restructuring its legal and public policy teams. The supplier of lottery technology and equipment is aiming to make its operations more efficient and boost its strategic alignment by merging the two into a new department, Global Legal and Public Policy.

The new department will be led by James D Schultz, who has been appointed EVP of Global Legal and Public Policy.

A Highly Experienced Team

In the past, Schultz has held a number of high-level positions in government including General Counsel to the Governor of Pennsylvania and Senior Associate Counsel in the Office of White House Counsel.

Joining him in management will be Phil Bauer, who has been at Scientific Games for 25 years and has been appointed General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and Christine Wechsler, previously SVP of Public Policy and Government Relations, now appointed SVP of Legislation and Litigation.

The creation of the Global Legal and Public Policy department comes after CLO Dena Rosenzweig’s retirement was announced.

As part of this succession plan, we have an opportunity to strategically align our operations with Jim's and Phil's combined talents. Jim Schultz's wide-ranging legal expertise and his deep knowledge of state and federal government operations will provide our business teams with additional strategic support as we continue to pursue new opportunities to expand our global operations. The combined organization under Jim will allow us to support our growth plans more efficiently and strategically.
