Vietnam's casino sector is in the spotlight due to both regulatory interventions and substantial infrastructure enhancements. These developments follow concerns about certain establishments facilitating unauthorized services to unsanctioned patrons.

Casino Supervision Increases

In light of a report from VnExpress, the Ministry of Finance has declared its plan to periodically audit casino facilities across seven key regions. The detailed mechanics of these examinations are yet to be unveiled, but they seem rooted in apprehensions about the practices of specific establishments.

A spotlight is on Phu Quoc Island, home to the famed Corona Resort and Casino. It is the sole Vietnamese venue allowing certain local residents to gamble, contingent on their financial standings.

Conversely, the luxurious beach resorts of Hoi An's Hoiana & Golf and Ba Ria's Grand Ho Tram Strip are dedicated to international gamblers. Moreover, smaller gaming venues in locales such as Hai Phong and Da Nang are also set for closer governmental observation.

Enhancements Unfold in Ho Tram

The goal of the increased attention to gaming operations is to help ensure the tourism industry in Vietnam stays strong. Recent upgrades to certain properties popular with foreign tourists will also help that endeavor.

The Grand Ho Tram Strip integrated resort has recently broadened its horizons with the introduction of "Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion," a set of upscale residences. Managed by Ho Tram Project Co Ltd, this segment features 164 condo units and 46 lavish villas, with 188 units being a part of a rental initiative, as noted by Akshay Moza, VP of the Commercial Division at The Grand Ho Tram Strip.

Ixora Ho Tram's launch, commemorated last weekend, represents a strategic endeavor to magnetize both domestic and global visitors to Ho Tram. Nestled in the Grand Ho Tram Strip Entertainment Complex, these lodgings extend a plethora of entertainment avenues, encompassing a renowned golf course by Greg Norman and a top-tier casino.

It is crucial to highlight the casino's current strategy, focused exclusively on foreign visitors. The facility offers an impressive roster of over 1,000 rooms under the banners of InterContinental Grand Ho Tram and Holiday Inn Resort. In anticipation, the upcoming Long Thanh International Airport is set to make the resort more accessible, cutting down on transit time for overseas guests.
