According to The Cordish Companies, the Live! Gaming & Entertainment District is projected to bring substantial economic benefits to Petersburg and the surrounding region. The company estimates that the development will generate more than $10 billion in total economic impact over its lifetime.
Projections also indicate that the project will lead to the creation of more than 10,000 jobs. In addition, it will produce substantial tax revenue for the state project, achieving approximately $1.1 billion in total tax revenue.
The approval of the casino project is seen as a major step forward in Petersburg’s economic revitalization efforts. City leaders have been actively seeking ways to boost the local economy and create job opportunities, and this project is expected to play a central role in those initiatives.
