A Westgate Las Vegas guest from Illinois won $374,443.83 after wagering $4.80 on a Wizard of Oz slot machine.

LAS VEGAS – A Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino guest won $374,443.83 Saturday after wagering $4.80 on a Wizard of Oz slot machine.

The Illinois visitor had reportedly made only a few spins before triggering the statewide progressive jackpot on Sept. 12.

The winner, who was visiting from Minonk, Illinois, was spending the afternoon at the Las Vegas property when the six-figure payout hit. The player’s name was not disclosed in the casino’s announcement.

$4.80 Wager Triggers Statewide Progressive

The guest was playing a two-cent-denomination Wizard of Oz slot and placed a $4.80 wager. According to Westgate, the jackpot arrived on the player’s third spin, producing a payout of $374,443.83.

The winning spin triggered a statewide progressive jackpot. Unlike a jackpot limited to an individual machine or casino, a statewide progressive can link eligible gaming machines at multiple Nevada properties, with qualifying wagers contributing to a larger shared prize.

Westgate President and General Manager Cami Christensen said the size and speed of the win made the payout particularly notable. “With only three spins, $4.80 turned into more than $374,000”, Christensen said in the property’s announcement.

The winner celebrated on the casino floor alongside other guests and Westgate employees after the jackpot was confirmed, according to the release. No additional information was provided about the winner or plans for the payout.

Another Major Westgate Jackpot in 2026

The September payout follows another substantially larger jackpot recorded at Westgate earlier this year. In June, a visitor from Atlanta reportedly won more than $10 million on a $5 Megabucks wager at the casino.

Large progressive payouts have also occurred elsewhere in Las Vegas during the past year. A $5 Megabucks wager produced an $11.1 million jackpot at Resorts World Las Vegas in November 2025, highlighting the large prizes possible through linked progressive games.

The Westgate payout is considerably smaller than those eight-figure Megabucks wins, but the $374,443 prize came from a wager below $5 and after only a handful of spins. The result makes it one of the property’s latest six-figure slot jackpots.

Progressive Jackpots Continue to Produce Large Payouts

Progressive slot jackpots increase as qualifying play takes place until a player triggers the required winning outcome. Linked systems can produce substantially larger prizes than many standalone machines because wagers from multiple participating games contribute to the jackpot pool.

The Sept. 12 win adds to a series of notable Las Vegas casino payouts during 2026, including seven-figure slot and table-game jackpots at properties across the valley. Individual jackpot outcomes remain determined by the rules and probabilities of each game, regardless of the size of the wager or how recently a machine has paid.

For the Westgate visitor, the qualifying Wizard of Oz spin ultimately converted a $4.80 wager into a payout exceeding $374,000.
