Allwyn UK Names Steve Parkinson as Brand and Marketing Director

Allwyn UK, the incoming National Lottery operator in the United Kingdom, has announced it has appointed Steve Parkinson to the role of Brand and Marketing Director. Parkinson replaces Ivor Burns, who currently holds the post and will be formally stepping down from the position in April. Senior leadership at Allwyn thanked Burns for his 14 years of service at the company and his contribution to leading an award-winning team.

Steve Parkinson joins Allwyn from Bauer Media, where he held several management roles. While serving at this company, Parkinson oversaw the growth of many prominent brands such as Kiss, Magic, Absolute Radio, Jazz FM, and Planet Rock.

Prior to his spell at Bauer Media, Parkinson gained invaluable experience in the marketing arena, holding roles at EMAP, Chrysalis plc, Heart, Galaxy, and LBC brands. Through his marketing roles, Parkinson gained a reputation for transforming the brands he represented.

Allwyn Prepares to Take Over National Lottery License

Allwyn UK won the bid to operate the UK National Lottery last year after a protracted process. It has spent the last few months preparing for a smooth takeover of the lottery next month, and the hiring of Parkinson is the latest of a string of senior leadership changes in preparation for the change.

Allwyn believes Parkinson and the rest of the senior management at the operator will play a pivotal role in leading the operation of the new UK National Lottery license era and hope to grow the product in the coming years.
