BetMGM Marks $180,000 for ICRG’s Gambling Research

Leading betting operator BetMGM has awarded a grant of $180,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) to support its ongoing research and education programs.

The organization will use the funds to sponsor research into responsible gambling and the effects of advertising on problem gambling. It will also assist the ICRG in raising awareness about problem gambling in the United States.

Findings from this evidence-based research study will allow us to better identify potential risks and guide best-practices for the gaming industry. We commend BetMGM for partnering with us to better inform the public, operators, regulators, legislators, and the media.

Arthur PaikowskyICRG president

The ICRG was founded in 1996 with the mission of helping individuals and families affected by gambling disorders through research and evidence-based education initiatives. Since its establishment, the organization has funded some of the most critical research about problem gambling in the US and across the world.

The organization has called for research proposals on new studies, which the BetMGM grant will partly fund.

Investment into research around responsible gaming is key to our continued education and commitment to providing best-in-class experiences and programs, as well as to ensuring a sustainable industry. This ground-breaking research will not only provide valuable learnings to BetMGM but will also serve as a guide for the industry and key stakeholders.
