Cristaltec Acquires Inspired’s Italian VLT Business

Inspired Entertainment (NASDAQ: INSE) has just announced that it has sold its Italian video lottery terminal (VLT) business to Cristaltec SPA as it continues to focus its energy on becoming a platform and games provider.

Inspired, who enjoy a 29% revenue climb, has sold its VLT estate and VLT managed services contracts, and Cristaltec will now be responsible for its operational support and machine capital obligations. However, Inspired will continue to maintain the Italian VLT platform and infrastructure together with game content.

Cristaltec is hoping to better position itself in the VLT market, where Inspired operates more than 5,000 terminals.

All of our work is aimed at improving the services offered to our customers, and we believe this agreement not only benefits both companies but also our customers and the Italian market as a whole. We have a great relationship with Inspired, and this collaboration allows each of us to focus on our core competencies. We are a leading manufacturer with top games in the amusement with prize (AWP) market, and Inspired provides a proven VLT platform with popular game franchises worldwide.

Cristaltec has also said that it will be upgrading Inspired’s current VLT estate and introducing its own games alongside Inspired’s.

Brooks Pierce, the Inspired President and COO, said that they “greatly respect” what Cristaltec has achieved. He explained that by working together, they “can better capture the new opportunities that will derive from changes to regulations as well as the evolution of the gaming sector in Italy, where we remain a very committed market participant, including through our continued presence in virtual sports.”
