idPair Rolls Out Universal Self-Exclusion Tool in 4 States
Safer gambling technology company idPair has announced the launch of its free self-exclusion assistance in four states, including Tennessee, Michigan, Iowa, and Colorado.
The first phase of the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP) will allow individuals to automatically self-exclude from various gambling platforms like casinos, online casinos, online sports betting, online poker, horseracing, and fantasy sports in the four jurisdictions. However, specific options can vary by state.
Currently, each state has its own procedure for self-exclusion from gambling activities. The process can be time-consuming, with in-person appearances and notarization required.
The NVSEP platform will streamline this process by offering free remote online notarization services in states that mandate notarized forms.
NVSEP to Work with Existing Self-Exclusion Programs
However, idPair noted that the platform will not alter existing state programs or how operators receive and process self-exclusion information. The company also emphasized that while NVSEP is expanding into multiple states, the initiative does not imply an official partnership between the state regulators and the NVSEP.
For the first time ever, individuals seeking a wider level of protection can self-exclude from multiple states in a streamlined fashion. While today we announce our ability to provide free assistance with self-exclusion in each of these four states, more jurisdictions are on the way as we accelerate toward our goal of removing barriers for people seeking protection across all gambling jurisdictions and products.
