LAS VEGAS – A Las Vegas local won more than $1 million at Palms Casino Resort after placing a $5 progressive side bet while playing baccarat.

Jian, an Emerald-level Club Serrano member, was playing with a $5 main wager and a $5 progressive side bet when the winning hand triggered the seven-figure prize.
Rare Baccarat Hand Triggers Jackpot
Progressive side bets are optional wagers that can unlock larger jackpot payouts when specific card combinations appear. In this case, the qualifying baccarat hand produced a payout of more than $1 million.
After the win, Jian celebrated on the casino floor with family and friends.
The casino did not release further details about the exact cards involved in the winning hand. It described the result as rare and confirmed the payout through its own announcement.
