Maryland's Casino Industry Reports Revenue Drop in August

The six casinos in the state collectively generated $161,398,690 in revenue from slot machines and table games, marking a decrease of $7,953,262, or 4.7 percent, compared to the same month in 2022. Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County, with 3,853 slot machines and 179 table games, generated $55 million in August 2023, marking a 3.1 percent decrease from the previous year.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, located in Baltimore City, faced the steepest decline with a 10.6 percent drop, reporting revenues of $15.4 million for August 2023. Ocean Downs Casino and Racetrack in Worcester County experienced a 4.5 percent decrease, generating $10 million in revenue.
Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County reported a 1.2 percent decrease, with revenues amounting to $7.1 million, while the recently purchased Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County saw a 6.9 percent decline, with revenues totaling $5.3 million.
