OVG Ordered to Close Bigwin29 Casino Site

The decision stems from lapses in the company’s know-your-customer (KYC) protocols designed to confirm player identities and block fraud or money laundering. However, OVG retains its business-to-business license, allowing it to continue supplying games and services to other operators in the jurisdiction.
The news of the license revocation has proven injurious to the casino’s shares, plummeting nearly 6% in Stockholm trading. OVG has not issued a public response but filed a motion for reconsideration last week, arguing it has since fixed the issues flagged by PAGCOR.
Partnership with Evolution Stays Intact
The revocation comes just months after OVG teamed up with Swedish live casino provider Evolution to open a studio in Cebu City in June. That facility, OVG’s first in Asia, started with baccarat tables and plans to add games like Lightning Roulette later this year.
The partnership highlights OVG’s push into live gaming, a fast-growing area where dealers interact with players via video streams.
Evolution, which powers real-time dealer experiences for many global sites, said the studio’s operations face no interruption.
OVG, founded in 2022 by a mix of industry veterans and investors, runs Bigwin29 as a hub for slots, sports betting, and table games. The site draws players with promotions and a focus on local appeal, but the license loss forces a full halt to direct consumer access.
The company’s shift to B2B work leaves employees at the Cebu studio, many hired locally to support live operations, facing uncertainty.
