Pennsylvania Gaming Surpasses $500M Mark Again in April

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released the April financial report for its gaming industry, revealing revenue growth year over year.

April marks the second consecutive month of Pennsylvania's gaming revenue exceeding $500m.

In the month, Pennsylvania's gaming market generated about $504.6 million in revenue, an increase of 5.9% compared to April 2023. However, the total fell short of the record $554.6m in March 2024.

Despite a 3.5% decline year-on-year, retail slots continued to be the state's largest gaming revenue source, generating $205.4 million. Furthermore, operational slot machines decreased by 665 units, from 25,555 in April 2023 to 24,890 in April 2024.

Parx Casino, Pennsylvania's leading game venue, saw revenue drop 4.9% to $31.6 million.

Online slot machines generated the second-most revenue in the market in April, at $126 million, up 31.8% year over year.

iGaming tables also saw a 15.8% year-on-year increase in its revenue to $45 million.

Sports Wagering Market Rebounds

In April, Pennsylvania bettors wagered a total of $646 million, a surge of 12.9% year-on-year. The growth was also reflected in revenue, with the state posting sports betting earnings of $42.4 million. The revenue rose 14.5% year-on-year, representing a rebound after two consecutive months of decline.

FanDuel, in collaboration with Valley Forge Casino Resort, dominated the sports betting landscape in Pennsylvania in the month, with a revenue of $25.4 million.

Mohegan Digital Joins Pennsylvania Market

Last month, Mohegan Digital, the iGaming division of Mohegan Gaming, launched its new online casino in Pennsylvania.

The new platform, Play.MoheganPAcasino.com, and its mobile applications offer a rich array of gaming options to players in the Keystone State.

Pennsylvania represents the company's fourth major launch; it already operates in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Ontario, Canada.
