Pragmatic Play Continues to Focus on LatAm

Pragmatic Play, the iGaming technology provider, has announced the expansion of its Latin American team with the appointment of Javier Samel as the new Argentina Country Director.

In the past, Samel has worked as Head of Business Development LatAm at SportingTech and Operation Manager of Online Gaming Unit at Grupo Boldt. He brings with him more than 12 years of experience working in the gambling industry in the Latin American region. His appointment by Pragmatic Play is part of the provider’s localization strategy, which has seen it rapidly expand across the region in recent times.

He will be working in a team led by VP of Latin American Operations, Victor Arias. Speaking about the new appointment, Arias said, “Javier has a wealth of experience across LatAm, and we’re very pleased to welcome him to our growing team. Focusing on Argentina, it’s a market we’re looking to grow rapidly in and can’t wait to get started.”

Pragmatic Play recently launched in the Buenos Aires market after receiving certification to do so. After receiving its operating license for the Argentinian market, the provider announced a number of deals with local operators. One of the first such deals was with WinonFire, which brought the developer’s live casino, virtual sports, and slots to the operator.

Another major deal was with bplay, and this was followed by an agreement with Jugadon. Most recently, Pragmatic Paly announced a partnership with the Latin American operator LocosBet.
