Online gambling provider Soft2Bet has announced the launch of its products in Greece after receiving two licenses from the Hellenic Gaming Commission’s Gaming Supervision and Control Commission (the EEEP).

The remote seven-year betting licenses give legal backing to Soft2Bet’s new operations in the Greek gaming market. According to the company, the development also highlights its commitment to expand in regulated markets across Europe and around the globe. Soft2Bet already has a presence in Denmark and Ireland, and at the beginning of the month, received a B2B license for Sweden.

The company added that the Greek market has “been of particular interest” since it reopened in 2021.

From the day it went live to now, the Greek gaming market has continued to experience several changes and the introduction of new regulations. Last year, the Greek government increased the €2 ($2.14) cap on online wagers and the maximum value of slots jackpots.

The Hellenic Gaming Commission has also implemented several measures to promote safe gaming in its jurisdiction. One of them includes introducing an anonymous tip line that allows people to report illegal gambling websites and unapproved gambling advertisements.

Greece remains a strategic and important market for many operators and providers.
