Under guidance from the UK Gambling Commission, a minimum of 0.1% of gross gambling yield annually should be donated to GambleAware by any organization which profits from gambling.
The donated funds will go towards a collaborative, whole-system approach to the prevention of gambling harms.
The minimum amount of 0.1% of gross gambling yield will be increased by gambling operators who have pledged to make donations in increments up to one percent by 2023.
GambleAware also emphasized that within the regulatory process, gambling operators can make further donations to socially responsible causes as part of a regulatory settlement with the Gambling Commission, but no funds were received regarding this agreement in Q1 and Q2 of 2021.
