Elys Game Technology Announces Third Sportsbook in Washington
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Elys Game Technology, the online sports betting and entertainment operator, has announced it is to increase its presence in the US state of Washington DC with the addition of a third retail sports book in the region.
The new sportsbook, called the Grand Central Sportsbook, will be located at 625D H Street NE in Washington, D.C. The venue will offer customers the chance to watch the match and enjoy a wager on the game while in a social setting.

The Grand Central Sportsbook joins the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook and the Cloakroom Gentlemen’s Club Over Under Sportsbook Lounge in Washington has been operating successfully since 2021.
Elys describes these gaming venues as small business sportsbook concepts and the gaming operator has achieved success running these venues. The new venue launch comes after the news that Washington is increasing the max bet in cardrooms, expected to bring even more gamblers to the state.
Once Elys has been given approval for the gaming venue by the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming (DCOLG), the company expects to open the Grand Central Sportsbook to start taking sports wagers in the fourth quarter of this year.

The small business sportsbook model used by Elys is taken from a similar concept that is popular in European retail gaming outlets. Elys says this concept is tried and tested in the European jurisdiction, and it believes it will flourish in North America.
