Megasaur Jackpot Slot All Features Reviewed in Detail
Last Updated:This is a monstrously good slot from Realtime Gaming that provides a range of free games and lots of excitement. The reels are packed with giant dinosaurs of different types and colors. This game was released in 2015, and it brings players the chance to win a giant jackpot, while some dino-mite features help to keep the gameplay varied. The highest paying symbols gives you 1,000 coins, while any prize can be doubled with the inclusion of a wild symbol.
The Top Features
There are five reels and 25 paylines on the screen. The presentation is perhaps a little less modern than on more recent slots, but that is something that isn’t a problem due to the prehistoric theme. The biggest roar will come if you grab the progressive jackpot. This is awarded on the scatter symbol when in the Megasaur feature. The scatter is a volcano that also awards free spins when you can at least 3 of them anywhere on your reels at one time.
The red and green Megasaurs are the wilds, and they replace other creatures by eating them. If you get both the red and green dinos on the same spin, then the red one activates. This red symbol gives you a 2x multiplier on top of any wins it forms part of.
A Look at the Theme and Graphics
The collection of varied prehistoric beasts makes this a great slot to look at. It is perhaps a little bit dated, but there is no doubting the power of the theme. The most fearsome dinosaurs are also the most valuable, as these are the red and green Megasaurs. Apart from this, there are Pterodactyls, Velociraptors, Diplodocus, and Triceratops.
The developers at RTG have chosen a serious, straightforward approach rather than using cartoon-style graphics to lighten the mood. It is a good idea, as it suits the theme to have brooding dinosaurs that look vaguely threatening on the reels. There are some short animated sequences featuring the wilds and scatters that add some extra interest to the spins.
Name – Megasaur Jackpot
Type – Video Slot
Release year – 2016
Playing the Megasaur Slot Online
You can start stomping across these reels as soon as you choose your preferred bet level and the number of paylines you want to play with. Press the spin button to get the action started in style. When you select the size of your bet, it will show as either mega, major, or minor. This will affect which jackpot you can hope to win on this Megasaur slot game.
Once the symbols settle into place, any win will be paid out automatically. When you get 3 of the volcano scatters you can then choose a volcano, which will reveal how many free spins you have won. You can now aim for the jackpot prize too.
When you get a red and green Megasaur together, then the prehistoric pleasure really begins. These beasts only ever appear on the second and fourth reels. When you get them together, they happily devour other dinosaurs to build your wins.
Megasaur Jackpots and Bonus Games
The fearsome free spins are where you can hope to win the slot’s biggest prize. When you see at least three scatters then you need to choose a volcano to get awarded two, five or, ten spins with the friendly dinos going extra wild on them too.
Megasaur Feature is triggered by three scatters. Each scatter reveals two, five, or ten free spins. Any green or red Megasaur appearing on the reels replaces all other dinosaurs.
Feature Guarantee – ensures that the Megasaur feature will be activated within 26 to 250 spins. If it’s not triggered randomly, the feature guarantee will activate it and award between 6 and 50 free spins.
Win-Win Feature is triggered when your win from the free spins feature has been less than 10x your bet. The win-win highest prize is 250x your bet if you haven’t scored any winnings.
Megasaur Jackpots
There are three Megasaur jackpots that can be triggered only during free games. The jackpots can be won only if they become active at the start of a Megasaur Feature. The jackpot you can win is determined by the size of your bet.
When playing at max bet, the Mega, Major, and Minor jackpots may be active. If the Mega jackpot is active, five scatters pay 100% of the jackpot, if Major is active, four scatters pay 20% of the jackpot, and if the Minor jackpot is active, three scatters pay 10% of the jackpot.
For the major bet, Major and Minor jackpots can be active; if the Major jackpot is active, four scatters pay 20% of the jackpot, and if the Minor jackpot is active, 10% of the jackpots are paid for three scatters.
When playing at minor bet, only the Minor jackpot can be active. Three scatters pay 10% of the jackpots.
How to Play in Demo Mode
Are you ready to go back in time but aren’t yet sure about taking your cash to the prehistoric age with you? You can get the best of both worlds by playing for free on the demo mode until you are ready to give it a go with real cash. In the Megasaur free slot game below, you can try all the features of the game without risking any real cash. Get a feel of the gameplay, how often the bonus is triggered, and how the feature guarantee works.
Where Can You Play for Real Money
One feature that is not active when playing Megasaur for free is the progressive jackpot. For a chance to win any of the three jackpots, you will need to register with a Realtime Gaming casino and deposit to start playing with real money. The Megasaur slot is available for real money playing on a number of reputable casinos. Take a look through the recommended casinos below where you can play safely in a regulated environment.

Tips for Playing the Megasaur Online Slot
How you approach the Megasaur slot depends on whether you’re after the big jackpot. The prospect of winning a million at a five-dollar bet is rather alluring, but considering the slot’s high volatility, you should plan your budget carefully and make sure you have enough funds to unlock the Megasaur feature or have the Feature Guarantee activate it for you. The Megasaur online slot lets you rampage across the reels by picking up fairly regular prizes. The special features aren’t as frequent, but they will shake your world when they appear from time to time. Try and take full advantage of the main features to build up your funds quickly.

Mobile Play Options
If you’re reading this review on your mobile phone or tablet, and you’ve tried loading the demo game, you may by now have an answer to the question “Is Megasaur slot available on mobile?” In the vein of its prehistoric theme, the slot is available on Flash only and therefore is not available to be played on mobile devices.
Concluding Our Megasaur Slot Review
This Megasaur slot review has covered a game that is rightly very popular in online casinos. The cool dinosaur theme has been carried out well and makes this quite a gripping adventure in a long-forgotten land. While we can all agree the graphics are not up to the standard of other developers such as NetEnt or Thunderkick, it’s got some intriguing features – from the bonus rounds to the progressive jackpots, Megasaur offers all players something that will suit their style of play and preferences in terms of volatility.
