High Profile Bans Serve as Stark Warning

Toffolo is the latest high-profile professional top-flight footballer to be banned following breaches of the rules that prohibit gambling on football matches.

It comes hot on the heels of the lengthy ban handed out to Ivan Toney, who plays for the English Premier League side Brentford. Toney has just completed the training ban he received as part of an overall eight-month ban for multiple betting breaches on many football matches over a period of several years.

The Brentford striker was issued with a £50,000 fine and is due to return to playing after January 16th, 2024 date when he has completed his ban period.
