Internet Vikings Continues Rapid US Expansion
Internet Vikings have increased its presence in the US iGaming market by beginning to operate in the state of Illinois.
Illinois is one of eighteen US states in which the Swedish iGaming hosting company has begun to offer its services since first entering the US market in July 2021. Illinois has the fifth-largest GDP in the US, and it is the state with the sixth-largest population.
Though a latecomer to the party, it is rapidly picking up its pace as it looks to open up to various forms of online gaming, having begun with online sports betting in 2019. Seeing the radical success of online betting in the Garden State in the short time since it was legalized, it has spiked a big move towards full regulation in Illinois.
Real money online gambling is not yet legal in Illinois. However, social gambling sites are very popular, and iGaming service providers, such as Internet Vikings, are not required to be licensed. However, they must have a client to work with within the state, and Internet Vikings currently have two.
The Head of US Expansion at Internet Vikings, Elena Kvakova, said that the company is eager to rapidly expand within the US and added that they have “no intention of slowing our pace until we have secured a base in all of the 21 states where iGaming has been legalized.”
The company is planning to expand into all US states where iGaming is legal by the end of 2022, and according to Kvakova, it will prioritize states based upon trends and client needs and expectations.
