Luckia Arica Casino Provides Major Floor Space to IGT
The LatAm market is certainly witnessing considerable traction in the gambling industry, though over the last few months, this has been mainly in the online sector.
Also, much of the news in the LatAm market recently has been concerning Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia, with some vague whispers about Brazil.
That is why reports coming out of Chile that the country is increasing its land-based casino presence are somewhat of a surprise, with slot developer IGT (International Gaming Technology PLC) set to reap the rewards.
Following the opening of the Luckia Arica casino, the US company will be allotted 35% of floor space for its dedicated slots and games, which is a considerable coup - especially from an awareness standpoint.
Already a major developer in key markets such as the UK and Europe, in addition to resorts in the US like Las Vegas and Atlantic City, IGT is also somewhat of a force in the online scene as well.
Five Different IGT Cabinets to Be Installed
With the opening of the casino and the deal struck with IGT, it means that Luckia Arica will benefit from having five different cabinets on the casino floor; AXXIS™ 23/23, the CrystalDual®, the CrystalSlant™, the OXYGEN™, and the award-winning S3000®.
General Manager at Casino Luckia Arica, Peter Müffeler Vergara, revealed why this is such an important development for the venue, stating: "We knew that it was critical to include a range of IGT solutions to realize our vision of a world-class gaming destination at Casino Luckia Arica."
He continued: "We worked closely with IGT to identify the ideal combination of games and cabinets from its industry-leading portfolio that will help us entertain a wide spectrum of players and quickly become a player-favorite casino in Chile."

Foundation to Provide Online Link-Up?
With online gambling yet to be fully regulated in Chile and a bill in the process of being reviewed, this could well provide a number of opportunities for Casino Luckia Arica.
Should this be passed (which is becoming even more likely), it will mean that it can offer a partnership to an online casino that wishes to obtain a license to operate in the country, which is standard procedure for LatAm countries - even in the US.
Currently, Argentina (Buenos Aires especially) has witnessed considerable success, having passed online gambling legislation recently and attracted some of the biggest online operators in the world, including bet365.
As a result, this could lead to becoming another major source of revenue while also helping the casino to increase its awareness among locals. A link-up with an industry-renowned provider like IGT will help to do just that and should have considerable pulling power when it comes to getting customers through the doors.
IGT will also help the casino in terms of being able to lend its many decades of expertise, particularly from a customer service perspective, and help the casino to provide an experience that makes people feel comfortable.
This, no doubt, will be an essential part of an online operator's decision to (eventually) partner with them and may lead to them being able to attract one of the biggest in the world.
