Playson Expands Global Footprint with Ontario Casino License

Playson, the popular online casino games developer, is now able to enter the Ontario regulated market after receiving an online gaming license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

The license allows Playson to operate in the Canadian province and provide its portfolio of games to operators in the market. It means that players will be able to enjoy Playson titles such as Buffalo Power: Hold and Win, Legend of Cleopatra Megaways™, and Royal Coins: Hold and Win, together with all future releases from the studio.

Furthermore, operators will be able to make use of Playson’s promotional tools, such as network tournaments and the Cash Blast tool that awards random cash prizes, both of which have been shown to improve player acquisition and retention.

The latest license means that Playson’s titles are available in more than 20 regulated markets across Africa, Europe and Latin America.

We’re thrilled to have entered the iGaming market in Ontario, allowing us to meet our elevated growth plans and expand outside of Europe. Playson’s experience of working across a multitude of regulated markets worldwide proved pivotal in navigating our way through this lengthy application process. With a solid company foundation and team full of passionate individuals, we have the ability to enter newly regulated jurisdictions across the globe.

Andrei Andronic, the General Counsel at Playson, explained that it took several months in order to acquire the license and that obtaining it is a “great feeling” and a “milestone” moment that “represents a significant step forward for the company, as Playson embarks on a new journey and enters the burgeoning North American market, we can’t wait to get started.”
