CricX Review Cricket-Themed Crash Game with Cosmic Features

Written by: Editorial Team

Last Updated: Dec 02, 2024

Cricket takes centre stage in this online crash game from Onlyplay, entitled CricX. It promises a game-changing experience, presenting edge-of-your-seat excitement and inbuilt thrills. CricX combines that enjoyable rush of cricket with the entertainment of high-quality crash gameplay. Onlyplay describes this game as “epic”, and we have a bit of a cause to agree with the developer.

A Space Fusion of Crash Gaming and Cricket

Like the previous entries from Onlyplay, the CricX online crash game uses a familiar interface for gameplay. Cricket and crash games aren’t combinations you often see, but the developer makes sure they fit in well together here. CricX also manages to include the theme of space into proceedings, making it quite the intriguing casino game from the start.

The cricket ball and the multiplier are what you need to keep a focus on when playing. Fortunately, they occupy the largest part of the screen, so you’ll never lose sight of them. Below this section is the area for placing your bets. You have the option of playing a single bet or two bets per game round. There is also an autoplay function involved, which I’ll explain more about shortly.

If you look to the left of the main game screen, you will see how everyone else playing CricX is wagering, cashing out and how much they have won. Then, turning your attention to the top of the screen, the previous rounds’ results are displayed. From that, you can get a picture of when to cash out in forthcoming rounds. You can also toggle the sounds on and off, if you want the animation on or off and more settings.

CricX – Cricket, Comets, and Cosmic Multipliers

The base theme incorporated into CricX unites cricket with outer space. Not the most common unison, but it works in this game. With the start of every round, the cricket ball flies through the air, soaring into space, with its multiplier climbing every second at the same time. To ensure you understand this from the get-go, Onlyplay has added twinkling stars and distant comets into the background.

What makes a nice addition to the game is its soundtrack as well. This brings a calming edge to gameplay, but it also enhances the idea of being in space at the same time. It’s a great addition to CricX, although if you don’t want to listen to it, you can mute the music.

As with the developer’s other recent crash releases like ScoreX, this game is lightweight and uses simple graphics to express its theme. That’s not to say they are bad or horrible to look at, though. In fact, everything is designed in high quality. So too are the animations, with the cricket ball hurtling through the depths of space and the shooting stars passing by in the background.

How to Play the CricX Crash Game

At the bottom of the game screen is where you need to begin with your gameplay. It is there that you will decide on your wager(s) for the upcoming round. You can do this in two ways. First, there is a set of predetermined values present, which start from $5 and increase to $50. If you want to bet less than $5 though, you can use the + and – buttons to decide on something as low as $1 per round.

Once you are happy with your bet, you need to click on the green “Bet” button, and this will lock the wager in for the next round of the CricX crash game. Then, you wait for the cricket ball to take off from the bottom-left corner and soar through the air. You’ll notice at this point that the green Bet button becomes an orange Take button.

With the cricket ball in motion, a multiplier starts increasing on the screen, too. You need to ensure you press the Take button when the multiplier hits a value you are happy with. It’s important to do this before the cricket ball flies off the screen. If you don’t, then you lose your bet and move on to the next round.

Instead of pressing the Bet button each round, you can also use the game’s autoplay function. Click on the Auto button to do so. Then, set the wager for the amount you would like to bet and press the green Bet button. This will then automatically set your stake in every proceeding round. You can also set a multiplier figure for each round, which will automatically see the game cash out at that point for you.

Twice the Wager, Double the Thrill

Not many online casino games allow you to place more than one bet per round. CricX does, though. With two betting areas included, you can wager twice in one go, but remember, you also have to cash both out before the cricket ball disappears off screen.

I like the addition of the emoji button as well, which can be found in the bottom-right of the game screen. This allows you to express how you’re feeling about the current game round through emojis. Press on it and select the emoji you want to use, and this will float up across the screen for everyone playing to see.

It’s also great that CricX includes data from previous rounds and displays how everyone else is betting and cashing out. You can use these details to construct your own bets per round moving forward.

Payout and RTP of the Crash Game

CricX features an RTP rate of 97%. This dictates how much you can expect to win back from playing it over an extended timeframe. This is a common return to player rate across the developer’s crash game selection. You also stand the chance of winning up to 10,000x your bet from it, which is a fantastic amount to target. Of course, you need to be realistic with your expectations, too.

What about volatility in CricX, though? Well, this all depends upon you more so than the game. It is your choice when you use the “Take” button in a round, so you control the volatility factor. Make sure you adopt a good bankroll management system and be careful what amount you bet per round.

Strategies and Gameplay Tips

A good way of playing any crash game is to see how other players are playing beforehand. Check the data provided on the left-hand side of CricX. This displays everyone’s wagers, when they cash out and what they win for doing so. Try and follow the players who are betting every round and winning. Build your strategy with their gameplay as a basis.

Furthermore, if you intend to use both betting boxes, then I suggest placing a smaller bet in one and a larger bet in the other. Then, cash the larger bet out swiftly and leave the smaller bet on a little longer. This type of gameplay helps to protect your balance while also giving you better chances of securing a profit from the rounds in CricX.

You can also utilise the information provided on previous game rounds. At the top of the screen, you can expand the insight into these rounds. The CricX multiplier doesn’t often go beyond the 4x multiplier level. During my time playing, the highest it reached was 50.39x. That was a single instance, though. Most other rounds, the multiplier didn’t exceed the 2x level.

If you like playing CricX, then you may also want to check out other crash games from Onlyplay. I recommend playing GoalX, Cosmo X and Limbo Cat as good starting points.

Is CricX Optimized for Mobile Gaming?

Yes, CricX is optimized for mobile and desktop gaming. If you want to play while you’re out of the house, then you can access CricX via a mobile device. The crash game is very scalable too, so you will have no issue playing it this way whether you’re an Android user or an iOS fan. The game has been optimised for this form of gameplay too, ensuring it adheres to the dimensions of your screen and responds to touchscreen capabilities.

There may be the option of downloading a casino mobile app too, which installs onto your device. This provides a quicker and more convenient way of accessing CricX, with just a single tap taking you to the game lobby.

Conclusion

If you like to see unique variations of crash games, then CricX is an ideal title to play. The introduction of the cricket ball isn’t something that features often in crash games, and the lightweight nature of CricX makes it compatible with all devices. Not only that, but Onlyplay has a series of crash games in its catalogue now, so it knows how to create compelling releases. This game certainly highlights that fact, offering another exciting crash game from the brand.
