Cherry Bombs Slot Review Three Levels of Winning Potential

Written by: Joseph Skelker

Last Updated: May 09, 2022

Cherry Bombs slot from Mancala Gaming is a game that was released in December 2020. At first, the slot appears to be a classic fruit machine, albeit with bidirectional paylines. However, it is actually a multilevel game that takes place across three-reel sets and uses mechanics such as cluster pays and cascades to generate excitement on every spin.

Cherry Bombs Slot with Features for Every Taste

Cherry Bombs slot combines numerous mechanics. It starts as a 5-reel slot with 3-rows and 25 paylines that pays out from both left to right and right to left. However, as players progress through the game, it becomes a cluster pays slot that takes place on 4×6 and 5×7 grids. Players advance to the different reel sets through the slot’s bonus features, and they will benefit from many more features, such as cascading reels, along the way. All of these features are explained in depth in the following Cherry Bombs slot review.

A Retro Fruit Machine with a Modern Feel

The Cherry Bombs slot game has a retro fruit machine theme. The game is designed to look like an old-fashioned slot cabinet that is set in a gaming arcade. This feeling is very much enhanced by the 80s-style soundtrack and sound effects that accompany the gameplay. Each spin is made more engaging thanks to stylized animations that play each time a winning combination lands on the reels.

In keeping with the theme, all of the slot’s symbols are traditional and include watermelon, oranges, grapes, blueberries, plums, and lemons.

How to Play Cherry Bombs Slot

Cherry Bombs slot machine is very easy to play. The paylines are fixed, so all you need to do before spinning the reels is set your total bet per spin (which you can divide by 25 to calculate your line bet) and then click on the big green spin button. There are also buttons to turn on turbo mode and autoplay, which can be used to set up to 100 spins in motion, complete with stop conditions.

You will also find buttons to turn the sound on and off, enter full-screen mode, and view the paytable. The Cherry Bombs slot is packed with features that form an integral part of the gameplay, and they are explained in the next section of this review.

All the Bonus Features Explained

The slot has three levels of gameplay. The first level is the base game, which takes place on the 5×3 reel set. Level 2 is a cluster pays game that takes place on a 4×6 grid, and level 3 is a cluster pays game that takes place on a 5×7 grid. The slot’s two special symbols, the cherry bombs and the matchsticks, control progression to higher levels.

The cherry bombs are set off when the head on a matchstick symbol lands aligned with the bomb’s fuse. A bomb can also be ignited if it is in the blast zone of another cherry bomb explosion. There are three types of cherry bombs:

There are also two types of matchstick symbols:

In the Cherry Bombs base game, a second chance spin may be awarded if a single matchstick lands near a cherry bomb but is not pointing towards the fuse. The matchstick will then spin and possibly realign itself to be pointing at the fuse.

The next thing to understand is how it is possible to advance through the levels. There is a Level-Up Meter on either side of the reels, and each time a cherry bomb explodes, it will add some energy to the meter. When the meter is charged enough, players receive 5 free spins for moving from level 1 to level 2. A further 10 free spins are awarded for moving from level 2 to level 3. Any cherry bomb explosions during the free spins will charge the meter, but if it is not charged enough following the free spins, then the gameplay drops down a level.

The Most Valuable Playing Tips

As with all slots, Cherry Bombs is a game of pure luck, and nothing you do will influence the outcome of a spin. However, the slot has a hit frequency of 31.70%, and it is described as being ‘very high’ volatility.

Therefore, it is best to ensure that you are betting an amount per spin that you can afford to sustain for the long term, as this will give you the best chance of hitting one of the slot’s top payouts.

If you enjoyed playing Cherry Bombs slot, then you may wish to try some of the other Mancala Gaming titles, such as Starwins, which combines Greek mythology and astrology in an impressive-looking game. Alternatively, if you enjoy the retro feel, then you may want to try games such as Swintt’s Golden888 slot, which truly feels like a one-armed bandit.
