Jack and the Beanstalk from NetEnt A Slot Full of Wonder
Last Updated:Climb a huge plant, raid a castle, kill a giant, and buy your momma a new house. Sounds like a day in the life of a fairytale thug, so why do we all know the story of Jack and the Beanstalk? Probably because of its underlying moral. If you face your fears bravely, you might come out of the unknown with something valuable.
Strangely enough, the exploits of the imaginary boy also make for one hell of a casino game. Swedish studio NetEnt quickly discovered this fact when it introduced the Jack and the Beanstalk slot in 2011. The title instantly became a smash hit and is still adored by players all over the world. If you’ve browsed many reviews of online casinos, this slot is often highlighted for its exciting gameplay, and we’ll help you explore what makes it special, give you the chance to try it for free, and recommend great gaming sites if you decide to bet with real money.
Jack and the Beanstalk Slot: Review of the Fabled Features
The layout of this game is nothing out of the ordinary – 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 fixed paylines that work from left to right. The mythical reputation of the slot comes from the way it reimagines Wild substitutions. As you might know, these are elements of the game that can take the shape of any regular symbol to help form winning combinations.
However, the Jack and the Beanstalk video slot has “Walking Wilds.” They can appear on reels 2-5. When you land one, you’ll get a free re-spin where the Wild moves a reel to the left. The process repeats until the symbol reaches the first reel and disappears. Any winning bet line with a Wild gives you an x3 multiplier to payouts, and even more Wilds can appear during the re-spins.
The other tasty feature is the treasure chest-shaped Scatter. Getting 3+ of these takes you to a bonus mode with 10 free games. In it, you can collect keys that appear on reel 5 to augment the Walking Wilds. Three keys turn the special symbols of the Jack and the Beanstalk slot game into a pair of marching money bags, six transform them into a trio of golden hens while amassing 9 keys might spawn expanding golden harp Wilds that cover an entire reel.
The Jack and the Beanstalk Slot Game Is a Pleasure for the Senses
It’s hard to believe that this title is 8 years old. It still looks amazing to this day, and one can argue that some newer releases can’t match its excellence. NetEnt’s signature touches and attention to detail can be seen from the get-go.
At first, there’s a cute cinematic intro where Jack is chased by the giant. Then, you are transported to the main screen of the Jack and the Beanstalk Slot. NetEnt has chosen to theme the symbols after the story. Jack, the giant, a goat, a watering can, and an axe are the top payers, while 10, J, Q, K, and A represent the smaller-value ones.
In normal mode, a peaceful village farm can be seen in the background. You’ll likely notice butterflies and birds fluttering around while you play. The protagonist might even come and cheer you on if you get a sizeable win. The bonus stage transports you to the castle in the clouds where big payouts can be captured.

A New Player’s Guide to the Jack and the Beanstalk Video Slot
If you’re making the switch from classical 3-reelers or are new to this genre, you might feel overwhelmed by the many mechanics of the Jack and the Beanstalk slot. Still, this is a game of pure chance. You don’t have to tweak any paylines, and the bonus features happen on their own.
Every button is located at the lower part of the screen. Here’s an explanation of what each icon does:

Jack and the Beanstalk: Slot RTP, Payouts, and Volatility
Our Jack and the Beanstalk slot game review wouldn’t be worth much if we didn’t dive into the financial aspects of the game. The Return to Player rate here is 96.28%, meaning that on average, you’ll get €96.28 back for a €100 investment. However, this is all theoretical, so you’ll likely see a different outcome over the short term.
When you take a look at the paytable, you’ll see that the regular jackpot is a hefty 1,000 coins. You can get it if 5 Jack symbols align successfully on a payline. But this is far from the maximum payout of the slot. Remember, Wilds give you an x3 multiplier and activate re-spins. All of this is turbocharged when you reach the bonus game. NetEnt says that the maximum win from a single spin on the Jack and the Beanstalk slot is 600,000 coins. This is a sign of high volatility, so you might have to endure several losing sessions before you get a lucky streak.
