Dutch iGaming License Awarded to JVH Subsidiary
JOI Gaming, part of the Dutch land-based casino operator JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group, has been granted an online gambling license in the Netherlands by the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA).
As such, the company can now offer games of chance via the internet, and they are set to start operating iGaming through the Jacks.nl brand in Holland. JOI Gaming also owns the Jack’s, Jack’s Casino, Jack’s Casino & Sports, and Jack’s Sports brand names, and its sportsbook offering is powered by Kambi.
The JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group operates 85 land-based casinos in Holland under the Jack’s Casino, Flash Casino’s, and Flamingo Casino brands.
The regulated online gambling market opened in Holland on 1 October, allowing gamblers in the country to place legal sports bets and play casino games online. Initially, the market launched with 10 licensees, including bet365, Tombola, Play North, Holland Casino, and state lottery Nederlandse Loterij with its Toto Online brand.
At the same time, the Janshen Hahnraths Group with FPO Nederland, Italy-based BetEnt, Belgian brand Bingoal, NSUS Malta, and the sports media and betting business LiveScore Malta also received licenses.
However, a number of well-known operators were unable to enter the market immediately as they had been passively accepting bets from Dutch players. These include Entain, Kindred Group, 888, Betsson, LeoVegas, and Casumo.
When the market opened, the KSA chair, Rene Jansen, said that with time he expects more operators to launch in Holland and that there are a number of pending license applications.
Recently, JOI Gaming joined up with Holland Casino, FPO Nederland, Nederlandse Loterij and ZEbet to create a new online gaming trade association called Vergunde Nederlandse Online Kansspelaanbieders (VNLOK). Last month this new association partnered with the cross-sector body VAN Kansspelen to help create a new code of conduct for advertising in Holland.
