Cherry Boom is a new online slot game from the Onlyplay brand. Released on 27th of August 2024, it presents players with a fruit-themed game and 243 ways to win across its five reels. A bonus game and free spins also exist within the slot for you to trigger. Wilds, bonus and special symbols add to the enjoyment factor as well. Cherry Boom also features an RTP rate of 96.60% and serves as a high volatility slot.

Unpacking the Exciting Features of Cherry Boom

The Cherry Boom slot from Onlyplay embraces the classic video slot design with its familiar five-reel, three-row layout, providing a straightforward yet engaging experience. Upon loading the game, you’ll find 243 fixed ways to win, meaning you cannot adjust the paylines. Wins are achieved by aligning matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.

During the Cherry Boom game, landing 5 or more “Coin” symbols will retrigger the Free Spins feature, adding the new spins to your total and increasing your potential winnings with an extra 5 free spins. Additionally, you can unlock one of the four jackpots—Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand, which trigger the bonus game. The more symbols you collect, the greater your chances of winning a higher jackpot, making each spin full of exciting possibilities for big wins.

Juicy Visuals and Classic Fruit Theme

Cherry Boom utilises a well-known theme throughout, focusing on fruit symbols. This is a theme that has featured in many online slots before. Yet the visuals that Onlyplay brings to the game make the fruits on the reels stand out even more. Speaking of which, when a fruit symbol is included in a win, it animates to display water running down it. Juicy!

The fruits featured on the reels include cherries, a lemon, an orange, a plum, grapes and a watermelon. There is also the slot’s highest paying standard symbol – the red number 7.

Around the reels, you will see flashing lights, bringing more enjoyment to the screen. Meanwhile, in the background, burning cherries and vibrant rubies can be seen falling. These seem to have clustered together at the bottom of the game screen.

How to Play the Cherry Boom Slot

To start playing Cherry Boom, there are a few simple steps to take. You will first need to set your bet, which needs to consider how large your overall bankroll is. The minimum wager in the game is $1 while the maximum reaches up to $50 per spin. To adjust this, you will see + and – buttons at the bottom of the game screen. Alternatively, you can click on the button that looks like a stack of coins and select a specific value from the menu that shows up.

The 243 ways to win at Cherry Boom aren’t customisable. When you’re satisfied with your bet, click on the large green button to the right of the reels to spin them. Matching three or more symbols on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost one will see you receive a win according to the Cherry Boom paytable.

Above the spin button, there are additional buttons for turning the sounds on and off, and for using the slot’s autoplay function. Be careful with the latter as there are no settings you can adjust for this – the reels will just keep spinning until your balance is depleted.

Unlock Wilds, Free Spins, and Jackpot Bonanza

Certain special features exist in this slot, including a wild symbol. This is represented by the diamond, and it can substitute for all basic symbols to help form wins.

You should also look out for the bonus symbols (the gold coins) coming into view, because five or more of these trigger free spins. You’ll be awarded five of these and at the start of the round, the values on the bonus symbols are summed up. The value is added to the special symbol appearing behind the reels in the shape of a large cherry. If one or more special symbols appear on the reels, their value is added to that.

There is also a bonus game included in Cherry Boom. This activates if three or more reels are covered with the red 7 symbol. In this round, you stand the chance of winning the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand jackpots displayed to the left of the reels.

Tips and Tricks for the Video Slot

Cherry Boom is a high volatility slot, which means it may be resulting in higher but less frequent payouts. That being said, it may be more suitable for players with a bit more experience or those whose bankroll can adjust to the experience of going through several consecutive non-winning spins. It is always advisable to start out with a smaller bet until you get used to spinning the reels and experiencing the game’s payouts. You can always increase this later, if need be.

If you enjoy Cherry Boom, but you are looking to try something with multipliers, then consider Onlyplay’s slot Caramelo Jackpot. The slot takes you to Brazil in the company of the loveable dog and as you spin the reels, you could benefit from sticky wild respins, payout multipliers, and a jackpot bonus game offering payouts of up to 10,000x.
