The event was attended by several local dignitaries including the RWS CEO, Tan Hee Teck and government Minister Alvin Tan.

The resort expansion is set to cost an estimated SG$ 6.8 billion (US$5 billion) and the development stage is known as RWS 2.0. It will comprise a 700 room hotel and some spectacular visitor attractions based on blockbuster film themes.

The casino at the resort boasts a gaming floor of more than 15,000 square meters, with 500 traditional casino gaming tables. Additionally there are over 2,400 slot machines and electronic table games for players to enjoy.

This upcoming development project is like no other before it in Singapore or the region and will be a must-visit in the global tourism landscape,

New Hotels To Increase Casino Visitor Numbers

Senior leadership have stated they believe the completed tourist attraction will lead to the resort becoming the number on destination in the region. The extra visitors to the resort will lead to increased revenue for the casino and resort facilities.

Government officials attending the ceremony praised the development stating it would lead to a boost in the local economy creating jobs and a significant rise in the numbers of tourists to the country.

Earlier this year Genting Singapore released strong results for the first quarter.

The new waterfront lifestyle development is a key feature of RWS’ expansion and an exciting new addition to Singapore’s vibrant tourism landscape,
